Voces ("Voices"), 2010
Installation
Voces (“Voices”) is an ongoing act of mourning and protest. This project addresses the mass femicide of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Beginning with the first documented victims in 1993, the name of each woman is embroidered into a white blouse. As the murders continue, the blouses begin to stockpile.

Once enough blouses have been sewn, the shirts will be installed in the gallery, each hanging at the viewers’ eye-level.  Missing person posters, newspaper articles and photographic documentation of the found bodies will accompany the exhibit.
